Honest diagnosis first. Repair when possible. Replace only when necessary.
Let's be honest about something the trade doesn't talk about enough: a substantial fraction of "needs replacement" water heater diagnoses are wrong.
A thermostat failure looks like total failure. A burned-out heating element looks like total failure. We see this every week in Como. That's the gap we built this service to close.

"My water heater wasn't producing hot water. Two other companies quoted me $2,200 replacements. Antelope's tech tested the elements, found one had burned out, replaced it for $235..."
"They installed our tankless unit two years ago. Did the gas line upgrade without trying to oversell us... Came back for the annual maintenance flush without us having to chase them down."
"Replacement took longer than originally estimated... They didn't add charges for the additional time and just finished the job properly."
With annual maintenance in Como, a standard tank unit runs 12-15 years. Without maintenance, 8-10. Tankless units run 18-22 years with proper descaling.
Generally yes, if it's under 10 years old and the tank itself is sound. Past 12 years, replacement usually wins on total cost. We tell you which side of the line your unit falls on.
Depends on your hot water demand profile and current setup. For households with high simultaneous demand, tankless usually pays back over equipment lifetime.
Yes. Annual flushing in Como is one of the most cost-effective maintenance services available.
If you have a pressure-reducing valve, check valve, or backflow preventer on your supply line — yes, code requires one. We'll verify during the visit.
If you've been quoted a water heater replacement, get a second opinion. The math often favors repair more than the industry tells you.
